The introduction includes Taiwan e-Map, Land Use Investigation (LUI) Map, Topographic Map, Cadastral Map, Land Section Map, Horizontal Control Survey, Vertical Control Survey, and Gravity Survey.
Taiwan e-Map is planned with GIS layer, including roads, rails, drainage system, administration zone, blocks, buildings, landmarks, control points, building numbers, and colored orthophoto map. The map has been subdivided into 23 layers according to map data, which could be applied in disaster prevention, transportation, hydraulics, economic development, tourism, academic research, and business analysis, also for meeting governments’ and the public’s demands. Please refer to https://www.nlsc.gov.tw/en/cl.aspx?n=2112。for more details.
LUI map is made from used blocks of land, and the situation of land use is described with colors and notes. The investigation focused on using high-resolution images of remote sensing to monitor situation of land use and coordinate with cadastral map, topographic map, and thematic map. The purpose is to enrich national land information system and land database, also to meet the demands of land management from Competent Authority. https://www.nlsc.gov.tw/en/cl.aspx?n=2112
This website has provided the scale of topographic map with 1/5000, 1/25000, 1/50000, and 1/100000. Users can click any point on inquiry platform, and the system will retrieve the scale of the coordinate. Users can overlay the results, search for metadata, or apply for relevant map service, according to displayed information. More topographic maps
The website has displayed and provided cadastral map, its original data is from framing jointing cadastral map, which Land Office transmits to NLSC every month. The cadastral map will be managed with coordinate conversion, jointing section, and e-Map or orthophoto map. The data type includes township, village, City, cadastral map with jointing section (New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Hsinchu City, Keelung City, and Chiayi City will be included in 2015), and cadastral map with single section (other Counties or Cities are included). The managing unit of cadastral map is section, which includes diagrams and numerical methods. Coordinate system of cadastral map with diagrams includes cadastral coordinate system and coordinate system of TWD67. The graphical scales are 1/500, 1/600, 1/1000, 1/1200, and 1/3000 with detail drawing. The quadrangle of sheet has border line. Coordinate system of cadastral map with numerical methods includes TWD67, TWD97, and TWD97 [2010]. But the mapping agency, mapping regulation, mapping accuracy, and scale are different. There are matching differences between sections and mappings.
The website has displayed and provided cadastral map, and its original data is from framing jointing cadastral map which Land Office transmits to NLSC every month. Because the result cadastral map overlays with other map data is different, and there is time difference for data which is provided by NLSC and Land Office, the result overlaid by mappings is only for relative position. Also, the cadastral data should be subject to boundary verification which provided by Land Offices, if it is related to land rights.
The land section map is the general inspection of cadastral and land section and value-added cadastral map conducted by National Land Surveying and Mapping Center every year. The purpose is to realize the background, shape, and relative position of cadastral mapping of each land section.
The variety of horizontal control includes satellite-tracking stations, first order satellite control points, second order control points, triangular points in Taiwan, control points of land survey off the coast of Taiwan, third order control points, encryption control points (forth control points), and precise traverse points. Users can click any point on inquiry platform, and the system will retrieve horizontal control information of the coordinate (displayed by project classification). Users can overlay the results, search for metadata, or apply for relevant map service, according to displayed information.
The variety of vertical control survey includes first order benchmark and second order benchmark. Users can click any point on inquiry platform, and the system will retrieve vertical control information of the coordinate (displayed by project classification). Users can overlay the results, search for metadata, or apply for relevant map service, according to displayed information.
The variety of gravity survey includes first order benchmark and second order benchmark. Users can click any point on inquiry platform, and the system will retrieve gravity information of the coordinate (displayed by project classification). Users can overlay the results, search for metadata, or apply for relevant map service, according to displayed information.
To arrange topographic map, we used aerial photograph provided by Aerial Survey Office, Forestry Bureau. Constituting spatial model is after aerotriangulation adjustment, making digital terrain model from stereography and coordinating those data as vertical control data of orthographic rectification. Also, eliminating displacement of image point is caused by inclining photo and fluctuating ground, rectifying the aerial photograph projected by NLSC and using it as digital image. The ground resolution is 25cm, which can be used to describe the ground surface.
